The Vista Blame Game Goes On: SanDisk

SanDisk's CEO Eli Harari blamed Vista for poor SSD performance:

SSD "performance in the Vista environment falls short of what the market really needs", admitted Harari at the company's earnings conference this week.

Why not? According to Harari, it's because "Vista is not optimised for Flash memory solid-state disks".

Riiight. Note that earlier in the article, the link it gives for poor benchmarks with an SSD. Did you follow that link? In case you didn't, here is the headline from that article. Emphasis mine.

No spin: Ars reviews the MacBook Air with solid state drive

Yes, a 5400 RPM HDD holds its own against the SSD. On Mac OS X! Not Vista. Not XP. OS X. Mainstream operating systems aren't really set to work with SSD. And mainstream operating systems include more then just Vista.

Yes, it wouldn't be such a big deal if they said "modern operating systems" instead. But instead, they had bias for something they probably should have fixed in the first place.
