Okay, another awesome title that is very misleading, because this post is mostly speculation. Those in it for the "real" news can leave now. Those in it for what might be the best speculation ever, stay.
So word on the street is Apple plans to release some major (and possibly iPod related) news come September 9th.
Why is this remotely important, aside from the obvious neat new Apple product bit that others have covered already?
Microsoft's CP+B ad campaign.
Yes, Apple is running scared. Microsoft's ad campaign must be big.
They are repeating a past tactic, like the Mac Pro a week before CES this year. Or scheduling CES at the same time and introducing the iPhone. (Shoot, Apple plans to do MacWorld at the same time again next year!)
But Microsoft has something up its sleeve too. September 9th we might as well forget the iPod announcement. And the Laser too.
