FUD Comes from All, Chrome, More Ads, & Layout

I've heard countless claims that Microsoft spews anti-Linux FUD.

Of course, FUD is just the word for propaganda that we use on the net. And further, is even more pejorative then the word propaganda.

And everyone does it.

"Oh, not us, Mister!" many would proudly proclaim.

I call shenanigans. Everyone does it. Need an example? Vista.

My point today is that Microsoft, while it does have its moments (seriously, do I even need to link the patent crap?) , and does advertise against Linux (Get the Facts), doesn't point out specific examples of Linux implementations getting hacked.

The latest one being the LHC. Note how there are plenty cheers and hurrahs about how CERN is using Linux, but no mention about how it got hacked from the same crowd.

Sure it was just bad administration, but that is the cause of most attacks. What you need to think here, is how many people would have spoke up and shouted if it was Windows running the game.

I was reluctant to even point this out, as part of it is picking on Linux. Not because it was picking on it, but because I don't want the Windows Enthusiast community to become a bunch of vicious attack dogs.

I was going to post about Chrome's awesomeness (not innovative, but rather, a bunch of good great ideas used previously, like IE8's separate processes in tabs, and Opera's Speed Dial, being used together in one place, with the addition of V8, to make one of the most awesome browsers out there), but got sidetracked and decided not to make a post about it (for now).

Another ad or two from Microsoft. Better then the last at least:

And lastly, I'm thinking of making a new layout for my blog. Something that will make this setup look less like some random Blogger blog and more like a blog with its own URL.

Suggestions welcome. I have an idea or two, but could use more.
